Tofu is available in several moisture content forms, usually in the produce section at the supermarket.  TVP generally comes in dehydrated form, either bits, chunks or strips and can be plain or flavored to taste like chicken, beef, ham, sausage etc.  As a rule, TVP is a great substitute for cooked ground beef in many recipes and you are probably eating it in a lot of things that you purchase.  The label may say textured soy protein or textured vegetable protein.
