Vegetable Broth Soup & Seasoning Blend (A Rub, Too)

A super sipping mug for a cold day, a delicious rub for meat on the grill or in the oven, a great seasoning blend for homemade soups and stews, this blend will do it all.

Ingredients:

1 Tbsp celery seed
4 Tbsp dried parsley
6 tsp garlic powder
6 tsp dried savory
2 tsp dried marjoram
2 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp dried sage
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp dried dill weed (optional)

Procedure:

All herbs should be crushed very finely, no large pieces.  Combine to mix well, it will settle in storage, so shake before use.  Store in an airtight container.

Sipping mug of vegetable broth - add 1 tsp to 1 cup of boiling water, stir well.

Add to Soups and Stews - about 1 Tbsp for a 4 person meal

As a Rub - about 1 Tbsp per pound of meat

In a Marinade - add 1 Tbsp to bottled salad dressing or your favorite marinade recipe

Serving Size:  No matter how you use this (in moderation), it is virtually calorie free until you add anything, very low sodium, no fat, no cholesterol, minimal amounts of carbohydrates and proteins
1 Tbsp contains approximately 11 calories, .5 g protein, 0 g fat, 2 g carbohydrate, 3 mg sodium, 0 mg cholesterol 

Makes about 1 cup of mix
