Turkey Burger

Made with ground white meat only, but could be made with 90%lean ground beef as well.  These will not hold together too well on the grill and are best for the skillet, stovetop.

Ingredients:

1/2 pound ground turkey or chicken, white meat only
2 Tbsp oat bran
1/4 cup rolled oats, not instant or quick
2 Tbsp skim milk
1 tsp dehydrated minced onion
dash black pepper
1/2 tsp canola or corn oil, or cooking spray
 

Procedure:

The 1/2 tsp oil or cooking spray is for the skillet, mix everything else together and form into 2 patties.  Heat the oil in skillet, or spray skillet with cooking spray and cook the burgers about 5 minutes per side, only turning once.

Serving Size:  1 patty contains approximately
148 calories, 9 g fat (3 g saturated), 35 mg cholesterol, 36 mg sodium, 6 g carbohydrate, 22 g protein, 1 g dietary fiber
