Christmas Cookies

The dough needs to be chilled a few hours, before slicing and baking, but they are worth the wait.

Ingredients:

1 cup cooking oil
1 cup butter (room temp)
1 cup granulated white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
3 egss
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp ground cloves
1 cup glazed cherries (red and green is nice)
1 cup chopped walnuts or similar chopped nuts
1 cup mixed glazed fruit (like pineapple or raisins)
4 cups flour

Procedure:

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl.  Pack dough into a 9x13 square pan, cover and chill overnight.  OR you can divide dough into two pieces, pat out into log shapes, wrap in saran wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours or longer.

Slice and bake at 350 F for about 8 minutes.
