This is a drop cookie with a cake like texture

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 cup margarine or butter (romm temp)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup table molasses
1 egg
1/2 cup thick applesauce
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Procedure:

Lightly grease or spray cookie sheets and preheat oven to 400 F.  Combine dry ingredients, mixing well, or sift.  In another bowl, blend butter, sugar and molasses and then beat in egg.  Stir in the dry ingredients and applesauce, all at the same time.  Beat one minute with electric mixer and then stir in the raisins and nuts.  Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheets, bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
