Sausage & Sage Pizza Topping
This makes enough topping for a 12 inch pizza crust, or 2 hungry people. Double it for an extra large
pizza. No tomato sauce for you tomato haters.
Ingredients:
3 sweet or hot Italian sausages, OR about 1/2 pound bulk Italian sausage OR Italian Sausage
1 cup grated or shredded mozarella cheese
5 Tbsp Romano cheese
1 Tbsp fresh sage, chopped, or 1 tsp dried sage
1 Tbsp lemon juice
Procedure:
This will cover a 12 inch pizza crust. Cook and crunble the sausage meat in a skillet, allow to cool to room temperature
before assembling the pizza. Build in this order - mozzarella, sausage, Romano and then sage. Bake at 450 F for
about 10 minutes for a 12 inch pizza, 15 for a double recipe pizza, or until lightly browned around edges. Sprinkle
the lemon juice over the top of pizza just prior to serving.
